A.F. Whiting Collection, 1930-1979.

The Whiting Collection consists of over 55,000 pages of field notes and papers, preserved in 217 binders, along with some recordings. These binders are organized into the following categories: Anthropology, Botany, Santa Curz, Dartmouth, Hopi, Navajo and Apache, Southwest, Taos and New Mexico, Havasupai, and Whiting-Personal. The bulk of the collection was amassed by the late A.F. Whiting over his forty-five year career in anthropology, ethnobiology, and linguistics.
